Suitability of liquid crystal display (LCD) glass waste as supplementary cementing material (SCM): Assessment based on strength, porosity, and durability

The use of pozzolanic waste materials as partial cement replacement is customary in contemporary concretes from a sustainability perspective. In this experimental study, the liquid crystal display (LCD) glass was finely ground to be used SCM, and potential beneficial effects terms strength, hydration, durability resulting were evaluated. Concretes with 10% 20% by LCD powder (LCDGP) developed subsequently tested at various ages. It shown that LCDGP can successfully supplementary cementing material (SCM) developing sustainable low embodied energy concrete. reactivity corroborated, which has been found limited for coarser particles. Although modified exhibited lower early-age strength than normal concrete, mechanical properties later ages indicated least 5% better performance due reactivity, greater surface area, finer particle size LCDGP. also proved very effective improving freezing-thawing resistance sulfate attack up 30% 5%, respectively. conclusion, excellent concrete while promoting development.
